Herb Tofu

Make delicious herb tofu quickly and easily with the SoyQuick Automatic Soymilk Maker. There are several ways that you can add herb flavoring to your tofu:

  1. After you have made a fresh batch of soymilk and are ready to make tofu, add the desired ingredient as an extract or powder to the soymilk before adding the coagulant.
  2. Cut firm to extra-firm tofu into smaller pieces and marinade in your favorite herb sauce. Stir occasionally to make sure each piece is fully coated and absorbing the marinade.
  3. Cook tofu with herbs and spices by frying, baking, or broiling.

Recipes

Sautéed Herb Tofu

1 batch firmly pressed tofu
1 tablespoon mixed dried herbs of your choice (try thyme, oregano, fennel, marjoram, season salt)
Olive oil spray
Chutney or relish

Method:

  1. Pat dry the block of tofu and cut into 1/4 inch slices.
  2. Put mixed herbs on a plate and dip each slice of tofu on both sides.
  3. Spray a non-stick pan with oil and heat - do not allow to smoke. Sear each side of the tofu slices until golden brown.
  4. Serve with chutney or relish.
